U.S. Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake arrived in Andijan region
Mr. Robert Blake arrived in Andijan region of Uzbekistan on Friday morning. During this trip, Blake intends to visit the camps of temporary accommodation of Uzbek refugees from Kyrgyzstan to get acquainted with the conditions created for them in Uzbekistan and to assess the humanitarian situation.
The visit of U.S. State Department’s high level representative to Uzbekistan began yesterday.
Before the visit of Andijan, Mr.Blake met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov in Tashkent. According to the traditions of Uzbek regime, information about the content of negotiations was not released.
It was just reported that the visit's program includes consultations with the leaders of Uzbekistan, representatives of civil society and partner organizations.
