Abdurahim Pulat: Resignation statement of Kurmanbek Bakiev has no lawful power
Announced by Kirghiz and Kazakh official state news agencies, supposedly the original of the hand written in Russian language resignation statement by Kyrgyzistan President Kurmanbek Bakiev is not true. Maybe it is, but does it have any lawful power?
No, of course. First of all, the state language of Kyrgyzstan is Kyrgyz language. Second of all, it does not match any modern state principals that the president of the country who was been elected by the nation is writing the resignation statement from who knows where, hiding and who knows somebody is circulating it as official document.
So, we have to consider Kyrgyzstan’s events, as the coup will be continued. Kurmanbek Bakiev will remain as a current lawful president. One should not forget that he has enough reason to deny the existing so-called statement.
On the basis of the above, my and Pulat Ohun’s statement that announced as an official document of “Birlik” Party, will remain as it is. In order to gain legitimization, Kyrgyzstan’s interim government should make some compromised decisions together with current Parliament and lawfully elected the President.
