Investigation of the attempt of rape of the woman prisoner by the investigator-officers has started
As we informed earlier, Shohista Mahsumova, who was charged with murder by the Kashkadarya region Criminal Matters Court for 15 years imprisonment, states that during the investigation she was tried to be raped by the Kashkadarya region Department of Internal Affairs investigator-officers. This was the reason for her accepting the murder charges. That is why her lawyers submitted appeal against the court decision.
The Appeal court made a decision to officially investigate the investigator-officers who gained the confession by pressuring the detainee and they are now being questioned. Shohista's lawyer does not believe in any practical outcome. But, as he told our correspondent, having this kind of investigation process in the state like Uzbekistan is a positive step forward.
