02:29 - Gazprom, Uztransgaz sign addendum to contract for gas transit via Uzbekistan
Russian natural gas major Gazprom and Uztransgaz, the sub-holding of NHC Uzbekneftegaz, have signed an addendum to the contract for natural gas transit via Uzbekistan in 2010, as well as the major terms and conditions for Uzbek gas supplies in 2010 between Gazprom and NHC Uzbekneftegaz.

The agreement on strategic co-operation in the gas industry was entered into by NHC Uzbekneftegaz and Gazprom in December 2002. In particular, the agreement stipulates long-term purchase of Uzbek gas for the period between 2003 and 2012, Gazprom's participation in natural gas production projects in Uzbekistan under the production sharing agreement terms, as well as co-operation in Uzbekistan's gas transmission infrastructure development and Central Asian gas transmission across Uzbekistan.

In February 2005, Gazprom and Uztransgaz have signed the mid-term agreement on natural gas transmission across Uzbekistan over 2006 to 2010. The agreement pursues the objective of transporting Central Asian, primarily Turkmen, natural gas with the use of the Central Asia Center and Bukhara, Urals gas transmission systems running through the territory of Uzbekistan.

On January 1, 2009, Gazprom has co-ordinated the terms and conditions for natural gas supply from Uzbekistan for 2009 and signed the addendum to the Uzbek gas supply contract providing for a pricing formula based on the European average gas prices. // istockAnalyst.com
