14:22 - An exit-visa was denied for one of the leaders of "Birlik" Party Holiknazar Gani
The Samarkand Regional Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan denied the Chairman of Samarkand regional organization of "Birlik" Party Holiknazar Gani's application to obtain travel visa. As known, Uzbekistan is one of the several countries of the world, which demands from its citizens to obtain an exit-visa in order to travel abroad.

The reason of the denial of the application is, as stated in the official document, that Holiknazar Gani was hiding his previous conviction. But, as Holiknazar Ganiev says, his 1996 case in insulting the president of Uzbekistan was dismissed by the Samarkand area Administration of Internal Affairs office and was not referred to the court, so by Uzbek law he must not be considered as convicted.

Holiknazar Gani informs his willingness to contact superior authorities to complain against Visa branch of Internal Affairs Administration’s unlawful decision as well as to defend his citizen and political rights.

As a reminder, a couple of days ago "Birlik" Party’s Fergana regional organization’s chairman Adham Muhiddin was also denied in obtaining the travel exit-visa.
