23:50 - 3 days of protest meetings in Surhandarya region against Aluminum factory, but no result

According to the official local news agencies, for 3 consecutive days people went to protest meetings in the villages and regional centers of Uzbekistan’s Sariosiyo district of Surhandarya region against the nearby Aluminum Factory of Tajikistan. Their demand is to shut down the Aluminum Factory of Tajikistan because of its pollution to the air.

The news emphasized that the Uzbek national security service officers were attracted to these events in order to control the situation. Tajikistan has not reacted to these protest meetings in any way.
